AC45L – Lake Racer
We are working for the RSM sailing team () with Steve Bali from Bali Racing for many years now.
Last year we have upgraded their GC32 into a light wind machine with a huge Code0. In 2018, they has changed the boat as well.
The main idea is to make the AC45F one side more powerful in light conditions for lake rounding regattas, which means even in sub-sailing conditions (below 5kts). On the other side more sophisticated to handle the boat on the shore and on the water too.
This upgrade includes two key elements. One is a 23m high modulus carbon mast with a 100sqm decksweeper mainsail and a gigantic Code0. The other is reducing the weight of the platform, then redesigning and reconstructing the platform for the new loads and for the dimensions of the platform to be more efficient.
The boat will have straight boards and foils as well.
The design will be made by us, the construction will be made by Bali Racing, the sails obviously from 1D One Design Sails.
I will post updates as we go forward.
